Data Engineering Manager
As a Data Engineering Manager at Beyond Identity, you are responsible for solving complex problems at the intersection of identity management and big data. The data team has both external and internal customers: we believe that all data collected on behalf of our customers should be easily available to them. We are a fast-paced organization going through rapid growth and solving technical challenges at an exponential scale. We are looking for a Data Engineering Manager with the highest levels of technical talent, people management skills and desire to deeply understand our product.
Responsibilities:
- Scale Beyond Identity’s data platform to meet the challenges in the years ahead
- Plan and prioritize the team’s road map, and champion team projects internally.
- Support timely delivery of engineering solutions to deliver business needs, while providing a transparent view to progress.
- Coach and mentor team members in their careers.
- Be a reliable decision maker.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of engineering management experience with a proven ability to build awesome, high performing teams and lead complex technical initiatives
- 5+ years of experience as a data engineer, preferably in a fast-growing startup
- Experience developing and maintaining software in an end-user-facing production environment, including the deployment of Machine Learning models
- Extensive experience developing and deploying software to a cloud platform environment such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Understanding and experience in agile software development and management
- Hands-on experience in developing and optimizing distributed data processing frameworks such as Spark for high traffic systems at petabyte scale
- Experience with Data Warehouse and Data Lake technologies such as Snowflake and Databricks
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
