Data Integrations Support Engineer

THE ROLE 

We’re looking for a passionate, detail-oriented Technical Support Engineer to join our Data Integrations team in our Amsterdam office.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to have relevant experience with complex API-based data integrations and data management platforms, advanced troubleshooting skills, and strong familiarity with issues escalation and prioritization processes.

As a Data Integration Support Engineer, you will be responsible for addressing complex data integrations related issues raised by Revinate’s customers through our first line support. You’ll have a knack for solving problems and be able to detect, diagnose, and repair data and application issues in production systems. While owning all the issue resolution processes inside our data integrations team, you’ll collaborate on a day-to-day basis with our Engineering, Product, and first line Support departments to maintain and improve our strict data quality requirements.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze, prioritize and resolve advanced data integrations issues, taking over all those tickets that our first line of Support can’t handle directly.
  • Prepare detailed escalation tickets for issues requiring actions from other team members or from our software developers.
  • Work directly with Revinate customers and integration partners to help address issues affecting applications running outside the Revinate architecture.
  • Create detailed internal documentation for our first line Support team with the goal of making them as self-sufficient as possible in handling data integrations related issues.
  • Engage as needed with our software developers and relevant external vendors to maintain and improve all the applications/tools needed to efficiently troubleshoot issues.

 

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience working with system and data integrations applications handling a technical support engineer position (ideally L2/L3).
  • Solid knowledge of REST and SOAP API-based integrations and most common data exchange protocols, as JSON and XML. 
  • Intuitive sense for spotting, investigating, documenting and solving data integrations related problems.
  • Outstanding spoken and written English communications skills, with the ability of handling both technical and non-technical audiences as needed.
  • Experience in supporting remotely the operations of an international and multicultural organization with needs that may vary depending on the specific market/region involved.

 

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience supporting SaaS-based applications.
  • Exposure to relational and non-relational databases.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages (ideally Python).
  • Familiarity with event streaming platforms (ideally Kafka) and/or message queuing solutions.
  • Basic system administration knowledge.
