Role Description
Byju’s is looking for a data scientist with ~3 years of experience in working with big data tools and on machine learning/AI model development for innovative products. Python is required but any other language used in model development is welcomed. Experience in developing visual intelligence and image recognition algorithms is mandatory. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data science model deployment, math, statistics, physics, or any other computationally intense disciplines and working experience in computer science/engineering.
Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant experience in the development of machine learning and AI models using computer vision and/or speech.
- Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, coding, python libraries, compute infrastructure, and efficient processing of large datasets.
- Statistical modeling - In-depth knowledge of machine learning algorithms and their applications including practical experience with and theoretical understanding of algorithms for classification, regression, clustering, deep learning and reinforcement learning
- Hands-on experience in implementation, performance tuning and machine learning model deployment
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Pyspark)
- Has worked on any of cloud providers such as AWS (preferred), Azure or GCP to train, deploy and run deep learning models
- Hands-on experience on deep learning frameworks, e.g. Tensorflow, Pytorch, MXNet, BERT.
- Capable of translating analysis results into business recommendations
- Implement data science pipelines and applications in a general programming language such as Python, Scala, or Java, or Spark
- Craft a measurement strategy to evaluate the performance of AI/ML & computer vision models
- Experience in Natural Language Understanding, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Algorithmic Foundations of Optimization, Data Mining or Machine Intelligence (Artificial Intelligence)
- Designs develop and program methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for product enhancement.
- Able to read, understand and implement solutions that are proposed in academic/research papers
Good To Have
- Developed or involved in Ed-tech/relevant industry on video/image data & fraud detection use cases, using ML + Computer vision models
- Having computer vision solutions using deep learning (developed from scratch) in GitHub is a big plus
