Database Reliability Engineer

- Design, build, and maintain highly available and scalable database architectures supporting global, multi-region platforms
- Take ownership of production database operations including schema changes, data migrations, deployments, and incident resolution
- Improve performance, reliability, and scalability through tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery optimization
- Develop automation tools and internal platforms using Go and/or Python to reduce manual operations and improve system efficiency
- Monitor database health and define alerting strategies based on SLI/SLO frameworks to proactively detect and prevent incidents
- Collaborate closely with development teams to support query optimization, schema design, and troubleshooting
- Implement and maintain robust backup, recovery, replication, and security strategies across relational and NoSQL databases
- Conduct regular security audits and ensure compliance with database security best practices
- 4+ years of experience working with large-scale MySQL and MongoDB production environments
- Strong background in Database Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or similar infrastructure-focused roles
- Deep understanding of database internals, performance tuning, high availability, and distributed systems
- Hands-on experience with automation and scripting using Golang and/or Python
- Familiarity with cloud database services such as AWS Aurora, DocumentDB, ElastiCache, and related tooling
- Experience implementing SLI/SLO/SLA-based reliability practices and monitoring strategies
- Strong knowledge of backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery methodologies
- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for system reliability and scalability
