To achieve this means making DeFi accessible to a range of audiences: institutional investors, family offices, hedge funds, crypto funds and HNWIs. We’re looking for an exceptional individual to join our team and take on important responsibilities in helping build out Avantgarde’s Asset Management business. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with other members of the team, this role will be a key contributor to the success of the entire firm.

DeFi is a faced paced industry and we need someone that can keep up. We're looking for someone dynamic, who thinks on their feet, takes ownership and works on their own initiative.

This is a critical role which will be central to managing and scaling a number of key operational areas as we continue to grow the business.

What you will do

• Identify, launch, and run our on-chain strategies (passive and active)
• Deep research in collaboration with our DeFi analyst to produce research and investment memos for presentation at the Investment Committee
• Research investment theses on new and emerging DeFi protocols
• Build relationships with other DeFi teams
• Adhere to and further evolve governance processes including those surrounding the Investment Committee
• Establish portfolio construction criteria, risk management and risk monitoring processes for new strategies
• Manage live portfolio risk daily to ensure the portfolio operates within defined risk limits
• Collaborate across the team to coordinate necessary product & business development
• Develop monitoring and alerting strategy and implementation for ongoing risk management
• Provide market commentary
• Input to DAO treasury research, governance and proposals where appropriate.
• Support the build out and growth of the asset management business including setting up new funds
• Assess, onboard/hire of new managers over time

Requirements

• 10 years of finance industry experience and at least 5 years demonstrable track record as a Portfolio Manager
• Competence across multiple asset classes
• Strong bottom-up fundamental approach to research
• Strong Investment philosophy and process supported by rigorous analysis
• Understanding and appreciation of momentum, sentiment, technicals, and trading dynamics
• Experience interacting with clients and prospects in an institutional environment
• Demonstrated understanding of DeFi platforms and associated risks
• Experience with yield farming, crypto-token economics, staking, and digital asset lending
• Deep understanding of unique aspects of complications related to risk in the cryptocurrency industry
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and experience in a collaborative, team-based, results-oriented environment
• Intellectual curiosity and comfortable taking risks
