Role Description
The Deputy Data Protection Officer reports to the company Data Protection Officer (DPO) as a member of the legal team. As Deputy DPO you will be part of a team responsible for overseeing privacy and data protection at Dropbox globally, and ensuring that Dropbox meets its obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You will work with the DPO in performing the duties listed in Art 38 and 39 of the GDPR, and any other tasks that may arise.
Responsibilities
- Drive a program of privacy and data protection compliance for Dropbox and acquisitions globally through continuous improvement of processes over time
- Assist the DPO in overseeing Dropbox product development and company operations to ensure compliance with GDPR

Perform Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIAs) as required working in partnership with teams across Dropbox
- Provide input as required on product privacy
- Build and maintain Dropbox’s Record of Processing Activity
- Foster a culture of data privacy through education of Dropboxers, writing and speaking at company events
- Presentation to senior leaders, staff and Board of Directors as required on privacy topics
- Other duties as instructed by the DPO
Requirements

A legal, compliance, information security or audit background with expert knowledge and in-depth understanding of global data privacy legislation (10+ years)
- Deep familiarity with the GDPR, ePrivacy and other applicable legislation
- Proven ability to influence change and drive outcomes to improve privacy in product or service design
- Experience dealing with DPAs, governments and industry bodies
- Experience in managing data incidents and breaches
- Ability to make good judgements regarding data privacy risks and to prioritize resources and activity around managing those risks
- Able to conduct the role independently and with integrity and high professional ethics
