Design Integration & Configuration Engineer

TLDR

Maintain product and configuration baselines across the development lifecycle, ensuring traceability, data integrity, and timely releases through cross-functional collaboration.

We are looking for a Design Integration & Configuration Engineer to ensure our product baselines, engineering data, and released configurations remain accurate, traceable, controlled, and ready for development, manufacturing, and product release.

At Optics11, we develop cutting-edge fiber-optic sensing solutions that make critical infrastructure and underwater security systems smarter, safer, and more reliable.

As a Design Integration & Configuration Engineer at Optics11, you will maintain the integrity of the Product and Configuration Baselines throughout the product development lifecycle.

Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and stakeholders, you ensure that approved engineering outputs and design changes are properly assessed, documented, implemented, and reflected in controlled product data, including product structures, BOMs, released CAD packages, engineering documentation, and configuration records.

You play a key role in keeping the Product Baseline complete, consistent, reproducible, traceable, and aligned with approved engineering decisions from development through integration, testing, manufacturing, and product release.

What you'll do:

  • Own and maintain the Product Baseline and Configuration Baseline throughout the product development lifecycle, from concept through release and manufacturing readiness.

  • Manage product structures, configuration baselines, BOMs, CAD packages, assemblies, drawings, engineering documentation, released design data, and configuration records.

  • Ensure approved engineering outputs, technical decisions, design changes, and release data are accurately reflected in controlled product documentation and released baselines.

  • Maintain consistency, traceability, release status, and data integrity across product structures, BOMs, CAD models, assemblies, drawings, engineering documentation, and configuration records.

  • Support engineering change processes by assessing change impact, implementing approved changes, resolving conflicts, and ensuring accurate documentation and release.

  • Support prototype and production builds by ensuring released product data accurately reflects approved configurations and engineering decisions.

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve inconsistencies, documentation gaps, baseline integrity issues, configuration conflicts, and configuration-related risks.

  • Provide technical input on product structures, CAD package integrity, configuration control, engineering releases, baseline management, and change impact assessments.

  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams and stakeholders to support configuration reviews, release activities, integration work, and timely technical decision-making.

  • Plan and execute assigned work in line with agreed priorities, development milestones, quality expectations, and timelines, while communicating risks and dependencies proactively.

  • Drive continuous improvements in configuration management, engineering data quality, baseline control, design integration practices, product development workflows, and overall engineering execution.

  • Share expertise, lessons learned, feedback, and best practices to strengthen team capability, collaboration, quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.
