Design Systems Architect
TLDR
Develop and maintain a reusable UI component ecosystem using Figma, design tokens, and automation to streamline designer–developer handoffs and ensure scalable UI infrastructure.

Project overview:
This role sits at the intersection of design and frontend development. The main focus is not on designing individual screens, but on building and improving a UI system used by both designers and developers.
You will work with Figma, components, design tokens, plugins, automation, and some code to keep the system structured, scalable, and easy for teams to use.
📌 Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a UI component library in Figma
- Work with design tokens (colors, typography, spacing, etc.)
- Build scalable component architecture (variants, properties, auto layout)
- Sync Figma components with frontend components
- Support designers and developers in using the design system
- Conduct UI audits to ensure consistency with the design system
- Create and maintain design system documentation, including:
- component usage examples
- onboarding for designers and developers
- best practices
- Create and maintain Storybook (or a similar documentation system) for UI components
- Develop Figma plugins and tools to:
- simplify working with design tokens
- automate designers’ workflows
- improve design-to-development handoff
- Build tools and scripts to automate design system processes
- Set up or maintain export and synchronization of design tokens between Figma and code
📌 Requirements:
- Experience working with design systems and component libraries in Figma
- Experience with Storybook or component documentation systems
- Strong understanding of variants, auto layout, and component architecture
- Experience working with design tokens
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Ability to read and understand frontend code
- Experience working with Figma plugins or the Figma API.
