Job Description:

  • Work on ongoing, hands-on product design projects for SRA’s modern products.
  • Responsible for 3-D modeling and rendering as well as hand modeling.
  • Build mechanical and mechatronic systems.
  • Responsible for concept creation and sketching/visualizing ideas.
  • The ideal candidate should be able to use multiple tools at their disposal to communicate their design e.g.
  • Sketches, prototypes, CAD based tools, 3D renderings and have an understanding to the appropriateness of their usage in the design process.
  • The candidate will have the opportunity to work with different disciplines and develop new products.
  • He or she should also continually design with form, aesthetics, human factors and ergonomics in mind.
  • Build prototypes of new devices, mechanisms, actuators, and products.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, or foreign equivalent and two (2) years of post-baccalaureate experience in design concept creation.
  • Design process and manufacturing procedures
  • Building mechanical and mechatronic systems
  • CMF and future trending, as evidenced by portfolio.
  • Experience must also include CAD 3D modeling; rendering technologies (Keyshot, Maya, etc.);
  • Fundamental hand modelling; and sketching and visualizing design ideas.
  • Portfolio required as part of application process.

Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours.

Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
