Development Team Lead - Remote

We're growing and are looking to add a Development Team Lead to our team. We’re looking for an experienced technical leader who can support and grow our development team, work as a Developer on projects, and lead communication with clients, including non-technical founders. Together we’ll build both great products and a great team.

As a Development Team Lead, you’ll provide mentorship and support to up to 3 developers, with one-on-ones and reviews. You’ll also work as a development consultant in one or more of our primary technologies: Ruby on Rails, React, or React Native, helping clients bring their ideas to launch and beyond.

thoughtbot is a Work From Anywhere company. This is a fully-remote position on the Lift Off team, which focuses on building significant initial versions of new products for existing companies or complex new startups. We're looking for teammates who overlap with our clients' working hours. This position is available to anyone throughout the Americas (UTC-3 through UTC-10).

Salary

Salary and benefits vary by location and country. The US salary range for this role is: $130,000- $155,000.

Requirements

Alongside hands-on technical abilities in either mobile or web, we’re looking for a technical leader, with experience leading and advocating for a development team, and providing day-to-day support and mentorship to other developers.

thoughtbot developers are able to build high-quality applications. This position requires senior level technical skills in one of our primary technologies: Ruby on Rails, React, or React Native. Qualified candidates will have an excellent knowledge of web or mobile development, debugging, refactoring, design patterns, testing, and other programming practices.

Very well-qualified candidates will also have experience with consulting.

For US-based team members thoughtbot pays at least 90% of the medical insurance premiums for individuals, 80% for their families for all medical plans, and 100% of the premium for employees and their families for our core dental plan and vision coverage.
