Position Overview:

Zenni is looking to hire a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A). The role will report to the Vice President of Finance and include a significant workload directly with the CEO and other executives. The leader in this role will develop a 360-degree view of Zenni and build the FP&A team with responsibility for budgeting, financial oversight, and planning for all business units. This role is highly visible and will interact frequently with the C-Level executives and various business leaders across the company.

A strong predictor for success will be evident in a candidate who will have a strong experience set in high-growth e-commerce companies, consolidated financial planning and analysis, and an ability to leverage data analytics to drive predictive modeling and forecasting decisions.

What you’ll be doing at Zenni:

  • Build and manage a world-class, data-first, FP&A team that is responsible for consolidated financial forecasting, budgeting, and planning across teams, and reporting (monthly close, operating model, and key metric reporting). 
  • Lead cross-functional projects with the Data Analytics team, including a complex predictive company modeling tool used for forecasting purposes. 
  • Own total revenue forecasts and related analyses, providing visibility and helping to define key topline metrics. 
  • Partner with business leaders and executives across Product, IT, Marketing, Customer Experience and Operations, and other G&A functions to ensure robust forecasting and budgeting processes are in place. You must also ensure these leaders are developing a mature understanding of the Zenni financial and l story where their function fits in. 
  • Fully operationalize FP&A business systems including budgeting and planning tools like Planful and streamline reports off systems like NetSuite ERP. You will partner with our IT lead as well as Accounting on a number of these projects. Experience building systems that can handle multi-product, multi-geo, and multi-entity business lines at scale is preferred. 
  • Design unit economic models, operating expense allocation frameworks, profit and loss statements, and forecasts for products and business lines. 
  • Own the financial projections models for both the near and long term, driving a high degree of accuracy in the near-term (12 - 18 months) and working with business partners to identify levers for greater efficiency in the long-term (24 - 36 months). 
  • Work directly with executives and business leaders to support a variety of special projects, business models, product changes, and investment decisions. 
  • Lead, mentor, and grow our Financial Planning and Analysis team. Drive impact at scale, and recruit and manage high-performing finance professionals that also take a data-first approach. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • An advanced degree is a plus. 
  • 10 to 15+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, investing roles (VC or PE), investment banking, or other similar roles. 
  • Experience in a high-growth e-commerce environment; capable of prioritizing and executing many projects at once 
  • Business partnership experience at the executive level; ability to summarize information and effectively communicate to both financial and non-financial audiences. 
  • Experience navigating through the ambiguity of blue-sky thinking and undefined financial data problems. 
  • Commitment to building inclusive teams and team culture. 
  • Experience with financial planning tools (e.g. Planful), Tableau, and ERPs (e.g. NetSuite)
  • An advanced knowledge of Excel is required.
  • Experience with SQL preferred.
