We are currently seeking a Director of Demand Planning to join our fast-growing team. Reporting to the VP of Operations, this role will own strategic planning initiatives as w­­­­ell as the oversight of day-to-day inventory management to maximize the growth of our business. Our ideal candidate will have solid and demonstrable eCommerce planning experience in a high SKU environment, possess strong analytical skills, creative problem solving, and keep pace with an environment that changes daily. We are looking for a detail-oriented, self-starter who is comfortable working in a remote work environment. In this role, you’ll work closely with merchants, buyers, designers, finance, and operations to optimize the assortment and invest in inventory to meet sales targets. You’ll analyze sales, inventory, and customer data to gain insights that help guide the team and ensure that we have our customers' products when they want them. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Excel, has a strong understanding of using data to drive decisions, and can spot risk on the distant horizon. As a member of the Little Sleepies team, adaptability, problem-solving, and collaboration are a must.

Description:

Responsible for the development of all demand plans and the creation of product forecasts, working closely with the Director of Buying and Merchandising

Analyze sales and inventory data to guide inventory and purchasing decisions

  • Work cross-functionally to align on annual strategic direction to maximize sales and bottom line
  • Execute inventory planning processes including category planning, open-to-buy, replenishment, and seasonal buy planning
  • Improve inventory efficiency and forecasting accuracy through development and implementation of forecasting tools
  • Collaborate with Merchants, Buyers, and Operations on seasonal channel buy strategies to support product initiatives, maximize in-stock, and inventory productivity
  • Share product insights and performance to plan with the leadership team on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
  • Partner with Buying, Finance, Production and Logistics teams to manage lead times and set purchasing schedules
  • Perform independent analysis and recommend courses of action to drive profitable sales
  • Partner with and help coach and develop planning teammates
  • Lead other projects as assigned


Requirements

Who You Are:

  • 5+ years of inventory planning experience including sales forecasting and OTB, preferably in DTC and/or high SKU count categories
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate large data sets and build/improve models
  • Analytical prowess and demonstrated ability to interpret data to solve business-critical problems
  • Thrive in a fast-paced and high growth DTC business
  • Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic environment
  • Strong collaborator with cross-functional partners
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work efficiently
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
