Join the Snowflake Finance team and help us scale our finance and accounting operations with our rapid growth! We are looking for an experienced Director of Finance to support our expanding finance team. This unique role owns a series of interesting, high visibility projects that can help Snowflake scale smart as we grow.
As a Director of Finance, your work is used by our executives to make strategic decisions that will have immediate impact on the company. You will join a small, growing finance team and have access to senior leadership across multiple departments.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about our business and who possesses the analytical rigor and strategic thinking to help our business scale smart as we grow. You need to embrace challenges and able to approach complex problems in an organized and detail-oriented manner. Reporting to the VP Finance, the Director of Finance will be a key member of the Finance team in developing and maintaining an effective financial planning, reporting, and analysis process. The Director of Finance will be part of the Finance leadership team, maintaining corporate models and forecasts, and work directly in preparing presentations for executive staff and the board of directors. Additionally, this individual will work directly with departmental leaders to do annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and monthly close activities, as well as provide strategic financial advice.
As a Director of Finance at Snowflake you will:
- Drive company’s annual Long-Term Forecast Planning process in partnership with all department heads.
- Develop long term financial trends and product key insights for executive leadership.
- Act as quarterback within finance and drive cross functional alignment within accounting, legal, treasury and operations finance functions.
- Helps build and lead the Company's financial planning processes.
- Responsible for monthly/quarterly close process and preparing the VP of Finance for quarterly earnings calls.
- Develop financial models and analysis for new product lines.
- Develop and monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances. Work with team members to enhance business unit financial and operational performance trends (historical and forecasted) using appropriate metrics.
- Liaise with business intelligence teams to enable better data sharing and timely publications of monthly financial results.
- Perform ad-hoc reporting and analyses as needed.
Our ideal Director of Finance will have:
- BA/BS degree, preferably in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
- MBA is preferred.
- 7-10 years of relevant financial experience, having held positions of increasing scope and responsibility.
- Advanced analytical skills and significant knowledge and understanding of US GAAP, preferred.
- Experience working in a SAAS company or other recurring revenue model preferred.
- Skills as relationship-driven leader who will be expected to help strengthen the relationship between finance and the business.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with proven success partnering and collaborating across various functions.
- Experience retrieving and handling large amounts of data in Excel or other database systems.
- Familiarity working with planning tools such as Adaptive Planning, Anaplan, etc.
- Highly self-motivated and stellar work ethic with strong attention to detail.
