ABOUT THE ROLE
The Director of Sustainability will report into our Head of People & Culture and lead the global SharkNinja Sustainability team, supporting SharkNinja on its journey towards best in class environmental and social stewardship and sustainability within its office environment, engineering function and supply chain.
The Director of Sustainability will be responsible for implementing SharkNinja global sustainability strategy, including supply chain sustainability strategy, projects, policies, reporting, due diligence assessments and process development.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop Shark Ninja ESG Strategic Framework
· Define and Implement Shark Ninja ESG Governance model
· Research environmental sustainability issues, concerns, or stakeholder interests.
· Identify environmental concerns.
· Evaluate and approve proposals for sustainability projects, considering factors such as cost effectiveness, technical feasibility, and integration with other initiatives.
· Analyze data to determine project feasibility.
· Evaluate environmental or sustainability projects
· Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of sustainability programs.
· Evaluate program effectiveness
· Develop, or oversee the development of, marketing or outreach media for sustainability projects or events.
· Develop marketing plans or strategies for environmental initiatives.
· Manage outreach activities
· Create and maintain sustainability program documents, such as schedules and budgets.
· Maintain operational records for green energy processes or other environmentally-sustainable activities
· Direct sustainability program operations to ensure compliance with environmental, retailer, or governmental regulations.
· Direct organizational operations, projects, or services.
· Develop sustainability reports, presentations, or proposals for supplier, employee, academia, media, government, public interest, or other groups.
· Prepare operational progress or status reports.
· Present sustainable products or services information to the public
· Build measurement systems and ensure reporting that enables decision-making to achieve internal goals, including scorecards, seasonal dashboards and forecasts, and other reporting. Develop methodologies to assess the viability or success of sustainability initiatives.
· Partner with SharkNinja’s brand communications team to ensure internal and external communications on product and materials sustainability.
ABOUT YOU
· Proven sustainability experience and demonstrated ability managing product environmental or corporate responsibility-related programs, preferably within Consumer Products for a +1.5B company.
· Experience with ESG reporting and related tasks
· Experience with third party requests to provide sustainability data
· Experience designing and/or implementing risk-based supply chain due diligence processes, including risk assessments, audits, and assessments
· Successful track record of leading cross-functional strategic initiatives from concept to completion.
· A demonstrable interest and understanding of supply chain sustainability issues and the ways in which these challenges can be tackled.
· Willing to travel in the US and internationally
· Bachelor’s degree (engineering/sustainability based preferred)
· Ability to work independently and to find innovative approaches to address new challenges
· An ability to see the bigger picture of SharkNinja’s overall sustainability strategy, and how this role contributes to it is required, in order to continually improve own methods accordingly.
· A methodical and detailed approach is essential, with excellent attention to detail.
· Excellent executive-level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver high-impact presentations on complex topics to leaders and stakeholders at all levels across organization.
