Lightcast is searching for a full time Copywriter to join our Education team. This role will help to support the marketing of Lightcast products and services by creating messaging meant to engage, guide, and serve decision-makers and labor market data users within the education space. The primary responsibility of this position will be to strategize, plan, write, edit, and sometimes coordinate B2B content creation in the form of emails, social media posts, video scripts, presentation deck copy, summarizing or adapting key takeaways from existing blog posts or case studies to various audiences and mediums. The person in this role may produce other pertinent long- or short-form content articulating the value proposition(s) of Lightcast Education’s product portfolio in a clear and digestible manner. The ideal candidate will be able to write copy that resonates with different buyer types, while taking into consideration specific use cases and buyer journey stages. Other duties may include assisting with content strategy, planning and management, product marketing projects, measuring and tracking content effectiveness. This is a role where creativity, learning, and experimentation are highly encouraged and valued.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop a variety of content in support of Lightcast Education’s growth goals, with a keen eye on the higher education buyer’s journey and perspective
  • Write clear, concise, and engaging copy for a variety of paid and organic communication channels, ranging from email, social media, and integrated marketing campaigns, to slide decks, video scripts, print materials and other related collateral
  • Create, edit, and proofread content that is both engaging and informative, presenting complex topics in a clear and accessible manner
  • Continuously analyze and improve content to ensure it is accurate/up-to-date, effective, engaging, and optimized for search engines (SEO)
  • Follow an editorial calendar to manage and prioritize multiple projects, ensuring that all deadlines are met
  • Experiment with headlines, body copy, and formats in order to identify new and compelling ways to capture the attention of the target audience
  • Dedicate time to understanding and staying up to date with both customers’ and the Lightcast Education team’s needs, recommending new content to address gaps in Lightcast’s current content
  • Support a culture of constructive feedback, open dialogue, and collaboration to arrive at a final deliverable with a standard of excellence
  • Internalize Lightcast Education product attributes and use cases in order to accurately represent in all written and verbal communications
  • Follow Lightcast’s branding guidelines and act as a key steward of the company's mission and values

Skills/Abilities:

  • Copywriter who can collaborate with others to develop and execute high-quality short- and long-form content for a variety of audiences and channels
  • Proven ability to excel in multi-tasking with outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and explain complex information
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to independently manage multiple projects and complete projects to schedule
  • Experience with a content management system, email marketing or marketing automation platform (HubSpot preferred), and marketing analytics preferred
  • Familiarity with the higher education buyer and edtech space strongly preferred

Education and Experience:

  • 1-3 years of copywriting experience in a digital marketing or marketing communications role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Communication, Journalism, English, Advertising, Marketing, or equivalent from an accredited institution.
