Electrical Engineer, Equipment
TLDR
Contribute to the production of the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers by overseeing electrical design and maintenance for high-precision manufacturing equipment.
Electrical Safety & Compliance: Ensuring that all equipment and electrical installations meet European and local safety standards (such as CE marking and REBT regulations), and implementing measures to mitigate potential electrical hazards (e.g., arc flash, LOTO). This includes conducting electrical risk assessments, providing specialized training to operators, and maintaining up-to-date documentation of electrical diagrams and safety procedures.
Installation and Commissioning: Overseeing the electrical installation, wiring, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment. Ensuring systems are properly powered, grounded, calibrated, and integrated into the plant's existing power grid and control systems. This involves close collaboration with the DF Facilities team, local utilities, and contractors to ensure safe execution and compliance.
Troubleshooting and Electrical Repair: Diagnosing complex electrical malfunctions, power supply issues, control loops, and component failures to minimize manufacturing downtime. Strong focus on electrical, electronic, and system-level root cause analysis (RCA).
Equipment & Automation Management: Managing equipment electrical maintenance, upkeep, and upgrades, including PLC programming, instrumentation, and control system expansions. This involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, setting timelines and budgets for electrical projects, and ensuring that project goals are achieved on schedule.
Technician Training & Electrical SOPs: Developing and writing new standard operating procedures (SOPs) for electrical operations and safety. Delivering technical training and resources for maintenance and production technicians to ensure safe and effective equipment handling, electrical troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation/Control Engineering, Industrial Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
3+ years of experience as an equipment or electrical engineer in a high-tech manufacturing, semiconductor, chemical plant, or heavy industrial environment.Laser experience is a significant bonus
Strong hands-on experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electrical systems, power distribution panels and control circuits.
Deep knowledge of Spanish and European electrical safety regulations
Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and modifying complex electrical schematics, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams
