Title: Emotional Wellness Coach
Overview:
Cleo is seeking a part-time (approximately 20-30 hours per week) Emotional Wellness Coach to facilitate and empower Cleo member’s emotional wellness goal development and achievement. This is accomplished by the following:
- Mobilizing member strengths, interests, internal motivations, and external resources to support development of sustainable behavior change(s).
- Supporting the member in their self-development and achievement of emotional health goals, utilizing motivational interviewing and active listening techniques.
- Working to understand each member’s mental health status and relationship with their health care system to bridge gaps and facilitate development of a comprehensive health care team, as needed.
- Encouraging and connecting members to appropriate professional behavioral health care and resources (including health plan / employer benefits and community / social support resources)
Note: Emotional Wellness Coaches do not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatments, or provide therapeutic interventions. Even if the Emotional Wellness Coach is a licensed professional clinician or nurse, they are not functioning within their licensed scope of practice in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Cleo’s mental health coaching model to members through their preferred channel of communication (chat, phone, or video.)
- Develop and maintain personalized Emotional Wellness Support Plans based on members’ unique mental health goals and needs
- Encourage the use of Cleo’s app and internal resources, the member’s employer mental health benefits, and appropriate connection to professional behavioral health support through EAP resources and / or in-network providers
- Collaborate with other Cleo care team members on a daily basis to facilitate comprehensive, integrative, individualized support rooted in evidence-based, best practice care
- Provide detailed and timely completion of administrative and supplemental activities, such as maintenance of member records, plans, and data in our proprietary system
- Innovate and support the evolution of Cleo’s mental health support services, seeking optimal member support and outcomes
- Collaborate within the Member Operations department and larger, cross-functional Cleo organization to support knowledge sharing and Cleo’s growth deliverables
To be successful in this role you may have:
- Enrolled in or completed Health Coach training from a National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC)-approved training program. National Board Certified-Health Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) certification strongly preferred.
- In lieu of Health Coach training or NBC-HWC certification, will consider candidates who have at least two years of behavioral health coaching experience.
- Experience providing mental health support across the adult lifespan. Professional licensure (RN, LCSW, LMFT, etc.) not required.
- Ability to creatively problem-solve, think critically, and make decisions with a high degree of autonomy
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; an ability to provide clear and concise guidance; through emails and over the phone or in-person with a casual and confident tone
- A solution-oriented mindset, an ability to be self-motivated, and an energy and drive driven to deliver exceptional member experiences, and to support families across the global
- An eagerness to work in a collaborative environment; with the ability to effectively navigate technology such as Google Suite, Front, and Slack in a remote environment
- An ability to thrive in an ever-changing, rapidly expanding fast-paced startup environment

- Technical and Business Expertise: Help to improve the family experience via feedback on services and available technology. Provide key feedback on family experience to help our cross-functional team build and further develop key features
- Member Focused: Challenge and support the development of Pod Team to prioritize member family’s needs; while delivering individually tailored solutions. Developing rapport and strong relationships with member families, Pod Team, and cross-functional team members
- Decision-Making: Gather information necessary to make decisions. Think through problems clearly and logically. Are decisive and don’t procrastinate on decisions once there is clarity on appropriate next steps
- Communication: Listen well, express verbal and written ideas fluently and logically, are open to input, and can be depended on for truthfulness and integrity
- Results-Oriented: Are goal-directed, focused, and accountable for meeting commitments, while also recognizing the contributions of peers

Pay Transparency: The base rate range for this position is $30 - $35 USD per hour plus the following benefits: paid holidays, accrued vacation time, paid sick time, paid parental leave, 401(k) plan, tech stipend, and professional development stipend.
