Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.
As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.
The Smart Diagnostic Systems mission is to ensure our products are always capable of keeping our customers out on their adventure.
We achieve our mission by developing the most advanced integrated diagnostic system in the world; capable of proactively monitoring, analyzing and learning from our fleets throughout their lifecycle.

You will work directly with that domain’s software development team to identify and integrate necessary diagnostic services and ensure appropriate implementation of diagnostic communications to support the needs of engineering, manufacturing, and service. You will serve as the integrator between multiple stakeholder groups including engineering, manufacturing, service, and the broader diagnostic development team. Also You will develop and validate diagnostic test procedure for Manufacturing and Service.

- Based on the Rivian UDS Standard and requirements from manufacturing and service, develop and maintain the overall ECU diagnostic requirements specific to diagnostic services and communications.
- Specifically, identify and define necessary data stream parameters, device controls, and routine controls required to support manufacturing and service.
- Work closely with manufacturing engineering and service engineering to ensure the diagnostic system supports necessary services as required to facilitate manufacturing, maintenance, and repair.
- Design, validate, and support in integration of manufacturing in-line and end-of-line (EOL) procedures.
- Define system data related to network definition.
- Develop test cases for domain/component diagnostic services.
- Validate vehicle diagnostic communication features with Rivian’s in-house diagnostic tools.
- Develop and validate diagnostic test procedure for Manufacturing and Service
- Work closely with internal and external customers (domain teams) on vehicle diagnostics related issues, ultimately serving as “subject matter expert” to one or multiple vehicle domains regarding the diagnostic system as relates to services and communications.
- Serve as the primary interface between your domain’s software development team and diagnostic software, manufacturing, and service.
