Engineering Manager

Your future challenges

As an Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a small team of around 5 engineers working on product improvements and development of our new services within our financial products. The role is mainly about helping the team deliver smoothly, supporting their growth, and working closely with product partners with a strong focus on backend development. It’s a good fit for someone stepping into their first management role or moving from a senior engineering position.

• Own the delivery of your team’s roadmap - making sure planned features actually get shipped on time and without chaos.

• Run sprint planning and weekly check-ins, helping the team stay focused, unblock issues quickly, and keep priorities clear.

• Work closely with Product Managers to break down features into deliverable pieces and keep scope realistic.

• Step in when things get stuck - whether it’s unclear requirements, tech issues, or communication gaps.

• Keep an eye on how the team is working (not just what they deliver) and suggest small improvements where things slow down.

• Support engineers in their day-to-day work - giving feedback, helping them grow, and making sure expectations are clear.

• Make sure basic engineering routines run smoothly (on-call, bug triage, retros, etc.), without overcomplicating them.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience leading or mentoring engineers (formal or informal leadership is sufficient).

• 4+ years of hands-on software development experience in languages like Python, Kotlin, Java, or Go.

• Experience working in Agile teams (Scrum/Kanban), contributing to regular delivery cycles. 

• Comfort with team-level delivery ownership (planning, prioritization, execution), rather than company-wide strategy.

• Ability to support the delivery of features on time with attention to quality and feedback.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with product and engineering peers.

• English at a minimum B2 level; Czech is an advantage.

• Customer-focused mindset with a drive to deliver user-centric solutions.
