About the Founder Institute: 

The Founder Institute (FI) is the world's largest pre-seed startup accelerator. We’ve helped launch over 4,000 companies in 180+ cities globally, that have raised in total over $800M of funding (portfolio valuation $30B). 

We’re looking for an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) to join our growing team. We are based in Silicon Valley and have additional offices in Colorado and Sofia, Bulgaria. Our success has been documented in the New York Times, BusinessWeek, Forbes, TechCrunch, and many more.

About the Role:

Location: New York City          // Position: Part-Time     // Report To: Head of Portfolio Success

This role is perfect for a founder between startups that can’t sit still. Whether your most recent startup was a success or failure doesn’t matter. What we do care about is your ability to build genuine relationships with first-class founders, and that more often than not, your advice is correct. 

As an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR), you will:

• Work with our top portfolio companies, to help them build products, raise funding and scale globally. 
• Help iterate the curriculum for our post-core program initiatives aimed at ensuring product-market fit, fundraising and fund formation
• Collaborate with our global team to develop and scale key strategic initiatives
• Develop and expand the New York chapter of the Founder Institute
• Lead the local New York Founder Institute core program 2-3x a year
• Virtually attend various meetings with HQ staff and representatives 
• Travel to California for the annual HQ planning meetings 

Your Background and Skills:

• Prior startup founder or experience working in a leadership role at an early-stage company. 
• Experience building products. We are hands-on with everything we do, and product development is no exception. 
• Fundraising experience. With links to the local and global investment community.
• A solution-oriented self-starter who will thrive in an ambiguous startup environment. 
• A connector, not a networker. We believe in genuine relationships, therefore we want you to be able to connect with a diverse group of early-stage founders.
• Ability to match up founders with an expert in the FI Network that can help with their specific business challenge.
