OVERVIEW

The Senior Spanish Linguist (European Spanish) performs quality control tasks and on-demand translation tasks, supports the coordination of the activities of a group of translators (internal and/or freelancers) for assigned projects, trains and develops freelancers, and ensures that the work is performed at a satisfactorily high standard within the specified deadlines and quality level.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The following is a non-exhaustive list of responsibilities and areas of ownership for this role:

- Perform consumer-oriented translations and reviews in various translation tools.
- Translate various types of content, including marketing, help and UIMaster or learn the tools associated with translation work.
- Follow the established translation process and raise queries when there is a need to.
- Learn the style guide and overall client’s requirements.
- Improve based on the corrections made by the internal and the client reviewers.
- Keep track of personal error statistics and work on the weak spots.
- Take part in the internal trainings and the ones organized by the client.
- Participate in the error arbitration process.
- Meet the productivity KPIs.
- Take part in the internal quality meetings and the quality calls organized by the client for the whole team.
- Constantly analyze own gaps and think of what assistance the senior members and the client can provide to help address those.
- Review the translations when ramped up and learnt ins and outs of the products..

REQUIREMENTS

Education
University degree in Linguistics, Translations, Applied Modern Languages OR Bachelor’s degree in other fields plus relevant experience in translations.

Experience Level
Minimum 3 years of experience in translation
Experience in performing reviews
Fluent in English (both written and spoken, in a wide range of registers)
Native level in Spanish (Spain)
Experience of creating easy-to-read texts
Experience of creating content for tech-savvy readers.
