Failure Analysis Technician

TLDR

Prepare samples and operate advanced failure-analysis tools to identify defects and support rapid investigations with engineers.

As a Failure Analysis Technician, you will support the customer complaint and failure analysis team by preparing samples, operating analysis equipment, and performing inspections to identify product defects. You will work closely with engineers to ensure analysis activities are completed within the required turnaround time.
 

What You Will Do

  • Prepare and handle samples for failure analysis activities.

  • Perform sample preparation techniques such as decapsulation, delayering, and cross-sectioning.

  • Operate failure analysis equipment such as microscope, X-ray, C-SAM, and SEM according to established procedures.

  • Conduct visual, electrical, and physical inspections to identify defects.

  • Support fault isolation activities using FA tools and techniques.

  • Record inspection results and maintain proper documentation.

  • Follow laboratory safety, quality, and operational procedures.

  • Support engineers in root cause investigations and customer complaint analysis.

  • Ensure analysis activities are completed within the required throughput time (TPT).
     

What You Will Need

  • Diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Semiconductor Technology, Physics, or related technical field.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic components and semiconductor products is an advantage.
  • Willing to work in a laboratory and manufacturing environment.
  • Able to handle microscopes and precision equipment.
  • Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office applications).
