Farm Hand (insect farming)

Goterra is a Canberra based Ag-Tech startup company that designs and builds modular infrastructure to process food waste using insects. We're looking for Farm Hands to join our Production Team working at our insect farm and waste processing facility in Canberra - if you're looking for a positive and engaged workplace with satisfying and meaningful work, this could be the opportunity for you.

The role of the Farm Hand is to assist in the daily operation of the insect farm. Tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Collecting, processing and preparing food waste as a food source for insects
• Managing the food source and feeding it to insect larvae
• Undertaking routine animal husbandry tasks
• Collecting and processing insects at different stages of the life cycle
• Cleaning and maintaining facilities and equipment
• Working with team members to ensure production standards and deadlines are met
• Other duties as reasonably directed
• Carrying out all duties in line with Goterra’s policies, procedures and processes

Note that this is primarily an indoor role in a warehouse environment. Some weekend work and reasonable additional hours are required. You must have unrestricted rights to live and work in Australia and reliable transport to apply for this job.
