About the job

You are responsible for developing and managing the feedstock trading activities for the Argent Group. Together with a small trading team you are assigned to a feedstock portfolio to supply all Biodiesel refineries, sourcing from both UK and International Markets. You will take ownership of this portfolio by maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating trades, do thorough market research, understand value-in-use of this feedstock, analyse spread valuations and develop and execute a trade strategy.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Execute Argent’s trading strategy for your feedstock portfolio and other feedstocks by maintaining and negotiating with regular suppliers in International markets.
• Lead in sourcing, development, and execution of strategies for new low cost, sustainable feedstock by assessing market opportunities.
• Maintain good relationships with your suppliers 
• Ensuring close corporation with the operations and logistics team to ensure smooth trades.
• Collate market information and intel to support of the overall trading strategy for the Argent Group (both feedstock sourcing and biodiesel sales).
• Manage pricing and contractual negotiation to ensure best value and least risk to Argent Energy.
• Play an integral part in ensuring all feedstocks are technically suitable and deemed sustainable under relevant legislation (in conjunction with REDII and local Health and Safety regulations).
• Keep up to date with all relevant legislative drivers within the waste and biodiesel sector, to ensure that Argent are able to exploit relevant markets for new sources of feedstock and added value routes for co-products.
