The Recruitment Fair will take place on between June 19th – June 26th at TIFF Bell Lightbox, Reitman Square, 350 King Street West. Recruitment sessions are by appointment only. Spots are limited and will be filled in advance. Interviews will take place on-site after a brief introductory presentation. Only candidates selected for an interview will be offered a slot. Prospective candidates will be invited to one (1) session.

TICKETING SERVICES
The Ticketing Services department is responsible for all ticket sales and inventory management through our Festival, Industry, and Venue box offices. Box offices serve nearly everyone who comes to the Festival – including public, industry, press, corporate partners, programmers, staff, etc. We play a vital role in our visitors’ experiences for the festival. As a member of our large team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional visitor experience, reinforcing policies and procedures, and handling customer data and concerns in an ethical and confidential manner.
 
TICKET AGENTS

Ticketing Services
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing excellent customer service to festival attendees, selling tickets, memberships, redeeming passes and ticket packages, reconciling cash, debit and credit card transactions. Also includes sorting, filing and organizing customer orders. Ticket agents are responsible for ensuring accuracy. Attention to detail is important for success.

CONTRACT DATES:
August 12, 2017 to September 17, 2017
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous customer service and cash, debit, credit card handling and reconciling experience.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Box office experience is an asset.
 
BOX OFFICE SUPERVISORS

Ticketing Services

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervisors will oversee and support the ticket agents; training and updating them on new information and processes.  They will have advanced knowledge of the ticketing system, will handle all mid-level customer service issues and will oversee the reconciliation of cash, debit and credit card transactions, ensuring that agents balance at the end of their shift and troubleshooting when discrepancies occur. They will be required to fill out end of shift reports, documenting any issues, concerns, feedback from customers and staff that occurred. Responsible for upkeep of the box office. Will work closely with volunteers and lines staff.

SCANNING REPRESENTATIVE

Ticketing Services
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Scanning Reps work with venue operations to facilitate entry to Press & Industry screenings and post screening People’s Choice Awards vote scanning.  Responsible for scanning equipment and daily set up and end of day take down.   Ability to trouble-shoot equipment and hardware; work with HQ and Ticketmaster as needed to ensure optimal performance of scanning equipment. Responsible for training and supervision of volunteers or theatre reps when scanning tickets, votes and passes; monitor their work to ensure accuracy and consistency.  Required to fill out end of shift reports, documenting any issues, concerns, feedback from customers, staff, and volunteers that occurred.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience supervising staff and/or volunteers.
- Proficient computer skills; specifically troubleshooting hardware and creating, filtering, and verifying data in Excel documents.
- Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
- Expect to be active for majority of shift.
 
LOGISTICS ASSISTANT

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Logistics Assistants are responsible for assisting with the setup, tear-down, and maintenance of various box offices while ensuring that all safety standards are met. Responsibilities include retrieving and replenishing supplies at venues along with deliveries across festival venues as required. This position may require some heavy lifting.  Logistics Assistants may be asked to help with crowd control and basic administrative tasks.

August 19, 2017 to September 17, 2017
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Logistics assistants must provide their own bicycle and helmet (mandatory).
- Must be prepared for manual labour and to travel from venue to venue in rain or shine.
- Required to handle assets and supplies in an ethical and confidential manner. 
- A can-do attitude will be the key to success in this position. 
- Expect to potentially be outdoors for shifts – rain or shine.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL TICKETING SERVICES POSITIONS:
- Must be able to attend all training sessions is crucial; starting August 12, 2017
- Must be able to meet commitments, without conflicts between September 7 – 17, 2017
 
FESTIVAL VENUES
Festival Venues are the TIFF front of house staff responsible for setting up the venue operations, welcoming visitors, providing information, managing line-ups, starting films on time, and ensuring the quick and safe movement of large groups of people for TIFF screenings and events. Festival Venues provide attentive and professional assistance to venue management, the technical team, filmmakers, sales, industry & press delegates and Festival staff. Festival Venues must remain calm, cool, collected and maintain a friendly and approachable attitude at all times. These roles require individuals with the ability to multi-task and think on their feet in a fast-paced, often high-stakes team environment.
 
 
INSIDE REPRESENTATIVE (IN REP)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The In Rep ensures all in-house operations run smoothly and the films start on time. This could include opening the house, ensuring reserved seating is accurate and organized, liaising with talent or industry reps (sales agents, publicists, producers, etc.) with the film for P&I screenings and with the Venue Liaisons for special guests for Public screenings; communicating with projectionists & Tech; starting the film; and communicating with Venue Management on any logistical issues and facilitating the Rush process from inside the venue.

- Strong time management, communication, troubleshooting, and customer relations skills.

OUTSIDE REPRESENTATIVES (OUT REP)

Festival Venues
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Out Rep oversees the outside and entry of a venue. They are responsible for the visitors waiting for a film including the Rush line, ticket holder lines, supervising the FOHAs assigned to them, overseeing Security or Police Services, and liaising with the Box Office staff. They are usually the first to greet Programmers and talent.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong communication, trouble shooting, and customer service skills.
- Expect to be active and outdoors through the shift – rain or shine.
 
FRONT OF HOUSE ASSISTANT (FOHA)

Festival Venues
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Each FOHA is specifically responsible for one or more of the following areas: rush lines, ticket holders lines, main entry points, TIFF Noir members, specific seating areas, and generally assisting the Reps. Their duties can vary significantly, and they can be working indoors or outdoors, depending on the venue and position assigned. They generally make up the bulk of a venue team, and are involved in overseeing and training Volunteers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Outstanding customer relations, ability to work within a team and manage situations under pressure will be the keys for success.
- FOHAs will be required to stand for the duration of their shifts with possible moderate lifting.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL FESTIVAL VENUES POSITIONS:
- In Reps, Out Reps and FOHAs must be available for Training (Aug 19-20), apre-festival onsite Training date (TBA), and Festival (Sept 6-17).

RETAIL
The Toronto International Film Festival is looking for individuals who have a passion for providing the ultimate shopping experience through their love of film and the arts. Sales Associates will also assist in the daily operations including maintaining a clean and well stocked store. RETAIL SALES ASSOCIATE

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for selling merchandise in the TIFF Shop and Festival Box Office pop-up store, reconciling cash, credit card and debit transactions. Additional responsibilities include managing Festival merchandise inventory, re-stocking and keeping set-up neat. Positive customer interaction will be the key for success.

August 24, 2017 to September 17, 2017
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous retail and cash handling experience.
- Some heavy lifting required.

TIFF BELL LIGHTBOX CINEMAS
The TBLB Cinemas team is responsible for the Front of House duties at the TIFF Bell Lightbox. 
 
TIFF BELL LIGHTBOX USHER

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Cinema Manager at TIFF Bell Lightbox, ushers maintain a high standard of entrance-to-exit visitor experience. Ushers direct visitors to appropriate cinemas, maintain orderly lineups, ensure visitors present a valid ticket before entering ticketed areas, and maintain presentation standards of the lobby and cinema areas. Ushers also assist with the setup and strike of stanchions, t-stands, furniture, and tables throughout the building
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL CINEMAS POSITIONS:
- Must be available for a mandatory training session on August 8 and additional training shifts prior to the beginning of Festival. CPR, First Aid, and Smart Serve training are an asset.
