Field Operations Technician
About the Role
A new opportunity has opened within our Blickfeld division—where the strengths of Senstar and Blickfeld come together to deliver innovative sensing solutions across logistics, industrial, and infrastructure environments.
We’re looking for a Field Operations Technician who will report into our VP Technical Operations and enjoys working hands-on with technology and wants to help bring these solutions to life in the field.
In this role, you’ll support the installation and deployment of LiDAR-based systems, gaining real-world experience with hardware, networking, and modern sensing technology. If you like building, wiring, troubleshooting, and learning by doing—this is a great place to start and grow your career.
What You’ll Do…
Support System Installations
- Travel to customer sites across North America (up to ~50%) to assist with installing LiDAR and related systems
- Mount sensors and install supporting hardware and infrastructure
- Run and terminate Ethernet cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a)
- Help set up network switches, modems, and system components
- Work safely in industrial environments, including at heights and in outdoor conditions
Bring Systems Online
- Power up systems and confirm everything is working as expected
- Check network connectivity and basic configurations
- Help troubleshoot issues alongside engineering teams
- Support smooth commissioning and handover to customers
Be Part of the Customer Experience
- Represent Blickfeld professionally on-site
- Communicate clearly with customers during installations
- Help ensure each deployment is a positive experience
- Provide basic guidance as systems go live
Keep Things Organized & Ready
- Prepare equipment before it ships to site
- Help manage tools, inventory, and field kits
- Document installations with notes and photos
- Support logistics and staging activities
Contribute & Improve
- Follow site safety requirements and installation best practices
- Contribute ideas to improve field processes and deployment efficiency
What You Bring…
- 0–3 years of experience in a hands-on technical role (field service, cabling, electrical, IT hardware, or similar)
- Basic understanding of networking (IP addresses, switches, connectivity)
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Ability to read basic technical drawings
- A willingness to travel and work on-site
Nice to Have
- Experience in industrial or logistics environments
- Familiarity with PoE devices, cellular connectivity, or Linux/Windows systems
- Any certifications (OSHA, lift equipment, low-voltage, etc.)
- Exposure to sensors, automation, or data-driven systems
