Finance & Strategy (MBA Intern)

 
Be a part of building the Financial Planning & Analysis team at Stripe!
 
Stripe is building an elite team of financial professionals to drive planning, analysis and strategy. It will be lean and highly leveraged by technology, working closely with Stripe's engineers.  In the Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis role, you will own Stripe's corporate model.  Through your deep understanding of Stripe's business, partnership with its global teams, data analysis, and strategic outlook on business results, you will help Stripe to invest its resources to their most lucrative ends, and play a key role in realizing Stripe's financial potential and aspirations.
 
You will:
 
  • Assist in the consolidated strategic and financial planning processes (e.g., Forecast, Budget, Long Range Plan) and own portions of the financial forecast models, including P&L, cash flow, supporting schedules and analyses.
  • Collaborate with and support business partners across Stripe in decision making and resource management (including headcount) 
  • Develop performance indicators and benchmarks, regularly monitor and communicate trends, and analyze unexpected variances.
  • Help lead strategic initiatives and key decision processes, and build scenario and ad-hoc financial models for in-depth analyses.
  • Help with the ongoing development of a business intelligence tool and scalable reporting systems.
  • Support the Finance team in preparing financial analyses and presentations to the Board of Directors and Executive Team, during close, and other high priority work.

You have:

  • 4 to 7 years of financial services experience (e.g., investment banking, management consulting, private equity), or operational Financial Planning & Analysis experience with exposure to key financial management processes at a high-growth company.
  • An enthusiastic "roll up your sleeves" mentalityand the ability to be a self-starter capable of driving business results without significant supervision.
  • Previously built integrated models (in Excel or other planning applications).
  • A proven ability to build strong collaborative working relationships with business partners, department leads, and finance peers and are seen as a trusted and objective advisor.
  • No fear of ambiguity. You thrive in an unstructured fast moving environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills that emphasize teamwork and collaboration.
  • An inclination to and facility with data.

Nice to haves:

  • Solid understanding of and the ability to model the key drivers of a payments or platform business.
  • Oracle and Hyperion skills, or equivalent.
  • Facility with SQL (you will learn SQL at Stripe if you don't already know it).
