Financial Analyst

GitHub’s Strategic Finance team is looking for a Financial Analyst to focus on Investment Forecasting and Planning. The role provides the opportunity to build a diverse skill set centered around optimizing and scaling a high growth SaaS business.
Responsibilities:
- Planning & Measuring: Collaborate directly with leaders of key business divisions and members of our senior leadership team to develop plans and set goals to enable the business to achieve its growth objectives.
- Reporting & Communication: Drive accurate and engaging monthly reporting on the pulse of the business. Communicate and collaborate with business partners to gain insight and surface key financial and operational narratives.
- Strategic Business Partnership: Regularly collaborate and build relationships with business partners, including senior leadership and LT, to understand the changing goals and priorities of the business. Use this information to support agile investment trade off decisions.
- Modeling & Analysis: Perform variance analyses and review KPIs to communicate key insights to senior management. Support the company’s annual and long-range planning processes.
Requirements:
- Work Experience: 1+ years of relevant work experience. Examples include strategic finance / FP&A, investment banking / equity research, corporate finance / valuations or venture capital / funds management
- Technical Skills: Experience with sophisticated financial modeling and working with large data sets
- Infrastructure Planning: Forecasting based off of hosting usage and familiarity with the financials of data center build outs
- Detail Oriented: Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Business Intuition: Solid understanding of the key drivers of a SaaS business; experience building and manipulating income statement models.
- Self-Starter Mentality: Proactive thinker energized to solve business challenges.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Preferred requirements:
- Direct Business Planning experience
- Prior experience supporting the FP&A function of a SaaS business
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal storyteller with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to a variety of audiences
- Interpersonal Skills: Build trust and effectively collaborate cross-functionally
- Personal Traits: Natural curiosity; innate ability to problem solve; hunger to learn
(Colorado only*) Minimum salary of $61,300 to maximum $130,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
