Financial Crime Risk Manager

We are currently looking for an experienced Financial Crime Risk Manager to strengthen our Payments department. In this highly visible position, you will report directly to the Director of Payments Compliance and undertake a global scope of responsibility. The role offers a platform for significant impact, including but not limited to the development of policies and procedures, as well as overseeing compliance risk reviews.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver, maintain and improve an integrated control framework reflecting the risk profile of the Payments Function
- Enable the Payments Track in safely meeting its objectives
- Provide leadership and direction on Financial Crime Risk and Compliance matters, with particular emphasis on:
- Counterparty Due Diligence
- Sanctions/CTF,
- AML/KYC
- Transaction Monitoring
- Internal/external suspicious activity reporting regime
- ABC
- Professionalise and promote appropriate governance, risk & compliance culture across the function and with B.com stakeholders
- Provide effective challenge to the Director of Compliance
- Prioritise and resolve financial crime compliance issues raised internally or externally
- Contribute to relevant Training and awareness raising across Booking.com
- Provide regular management reports on the state of the framework, extant risks and controls, remediation requirements etc
- Liaise directly with regulators, law enforcement and other external stakeholders
- Lead (and line manage) a growing team of professional compliance resources
Qualifications and requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree level education
- Between 8 - 12 years’ experience within a relevant field
- Technology industry exposure is a big plus
- Proven ability to advise on best practice in the Financial Crime Risk management area
- Previous experience in the development of control frameworks
- Strong communication, negotiation and presenting skills
