About the Role

The Finance team sits at the heart of the business working with business stakeholders to deliver the annual plans, mitigate risk and exploit opportunities. Using a balance of commercial acumen, analytics and management accounting the team work to assess new business opportunities, analyse key decisions, report on performance to the business stakeholders and complete the regular month end reporting and forecasting.

The main challenges of the business are to develop marketing, sales, retention, and pricing capabilities to maintain and grow the current portfolio of customers by developing new products and offerings that create clear space between AL and their competitors.

Reporting Lines

This role reports to Financial Controller

Hours

Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week

Main Accountabilities

• Bottom-up build of the annual budget, liaising with all stakeholders across the business to build the annual budget
• Leading a number of stakeholder meetings to challenge and discuss budget and forecasts
• Supporting the Financial Controller and Finance Director in the monthly re-forecast: working closely with the key business stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks and exploit opportunities across the business
• Cash Flow forecasting
• Finance Business Partner to the Chief Customer officer and directors
• Finance lead for Business integration projects
• Working closely with the Finance Reporting manager to complete the monthly Exec Board pack
• Assisting in the annual audit of the financial statements
• Ad-hoc tasks

About you

• Educated to degree level in a Finance or Business-related subject
• Finalist / Newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Understanding of financial reporting, full P&L and Balance Sheet preparation
• Self-Starter with a strong work ethic
• Intermediate/advanced excel skills
• Ability to work under pressure, taking ownership of work and meeting strict deadlines
• Professional attitude
• Diligent
• Ability to influence people and ensure that everyone pulls in the same direction to reach a common goal
• Personable, ability to build great working relationships across the business with colleagues at all levels
• Inquisitive, ability to challenge information received in a collaborative way
