Curology
GM, Agency
Curology is creating the next generation of skincare through customized treatment plans and formulas with powerful prescription ingredients for acne and anti-aging. We believe great skin shouldn’t be a luxury, but a fact of life.
Most brand management roles at traditional brands are slow and stagnant. You inherit a great history, but end up focused on protecting past success rather than blazing paths for future growth. And most startup brand management roles, well, they don’t exist. The C-suite runs the business, and brand management becomes brand marketing, without true P&L ownership. At Curology Inc., we’re changing that. We’re looking to hire a strategic, creative and operational marketing leader to come in and lead all the general management aspects of growing our newest skincare brand, Agency.
Responsibilities
- Develop the strategic and operational plan to scale the Agency business to be the the #1 brand in anti-aging skincare
- Be responsible for the P&L, working with finance and executive teams to develop annual and quarterly budgets and growth plans and execute against them
- Oversee the day-to-day operations in collaboration with shared resources throughout the company
- Monitor core P&L drivers and develop mitigation strategies when the business is off-track
- Lead the marketing team to deploy marketing budget across core and experimental performance channels, influencer partnership, brand, and other initiatives
- Lead the evolution of the brand including brand architecture, visual ID, and brand voice to inform all aspects of creative and brand expression across all consumer and customer touchpoints (physical products, packaging, advertising, digital experience, provider interactions and customer support.)
- Educate and evangelize on its use across the organization and with key stakeholders
- Partner with the VP of Product Development to build the right portfolio of offerings to achieve our long-term goals
- Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing team with clear OKRs and timely feedback
- Enhance the team’s analytics and operating rigor to focus time and resources on the highest impact initiatives
- Identify, evaluate, select, and manage appropriate agency partners to complement in-house capabilities
Requirements
- 10+ years of overall work experience including experience in a GM, growth, product, or operations role at a high-growth company
- Expertise in developing business plans and budgets for rapidly scaling business units
- Demonstrated success in owning a P&L and driving business unit KPIs
- Background and experience across functional areas (growth, brand, product, CX, etc). The more parts of a business you have touched, the better
- Generalist business training or background where a solid analytical skill set was developed
- Track record of leading and developing high-performing teams by providing guidance and mentorship; hiring/retaining great talent; inspiring creativity; and providing team members the autonomy they need to perform at the highest level
- Leader and executer with a strong presence and interpersonal skills who has experience successfully working cross-functionally to complete initiatives
- History of attracting, retaining and developing exceptional marketing talent. Rigorously holds oneself and others accountable for achieving high levels of performance. Conveys a sense of mission and drives issues to closure
- Strategic & Analytical Capabilities: Data-driven and experienced in agile marketing operating approach (constant testing, learning, and iterating); can translate data into focused insights.
- A self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who can navigate a complex and fast-moving environment
- Personal Characteristics - Excited about Curology’s values: Humility, Team-First Attitude, and Getting Stuff Done
- Results-oriented with ability to drive quick and efficient decision making with autonomy
