Part-time preschool maintenance role overseeing campus upkeep, HVAC, plumbing, locksmith tasks, and safety for indoor and outdoor facilities.
Preschool Maintenance/Custodian Job Description:
A preschool is a facility, which needs very careful maintenance. School generally needs maintenance more frequently than any other similar kind of property. Apart from general things like floor, roof and electrical; there are many other things like garden, play ground and auditorium present in a school, which requires maintenance and upkeep. We are looking for someone to take the overall care of the school as a whole both inside and out.
This job is limited to about 2 days a week (1 can be on the weekend). Hours/days can be flexible we just need to have them set so that we know what to expect each week.
School Maintenance Duties and Responsibilities:
▪All the responsibilities of the maintenance of a school.
▪Work with owners and director on to property to do list.
▪Trips to hardware stores (vehicle required, if you have a trailer it is a bonus).
School Maintenance Skills and Specification:
▪ To get a school maintenance job, you should possess general knowledge of maintenance; like maintenance of garden, maintenance of play ground, maintenance of HVAC, plumbing and so on. Very Important to keep the yards and playgrounds watered for the grass to grow and keep the playgrounds and equipment very safe! You must be able to maintain HVAC units, change A/C filters, rest and check fire alarms at all times.
▪ You need to be a very punctual person.
School Maintenance Education and Qualification:
▪ You can get this job with very minimal educational qualification such as a high school diploma or equivalent, as qualification does not hold the key for this job. Yes, if you have gone through any course in house keeping and maintenance, then your chance is bright as far as getting this job is concerned. Having your own trailer and the ability to pull it with your vehicle is a bonus for a candidate.
▪ You should possess skills in maintenance, in order to get this particular job. That matters more than your educational qualification at the time of the selection for this job. You should also posses a valid Florida Driver's Lic. with proof of insurability, and most importantly be able to clear a criminal justice fingerprint/background clearance, and of course be drug-free and could require a drug test at any given time, you must also be clean-cut and professional
- Be able to operate and maintain heavy equipment as needed.
- Perform the duties of a locksmith; i.e., replace locks, rekey doors and repair all other hardware
- Transport equipment and materials to job site
- Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
Physical Requirements:
Heavy work: Exerting up to 100lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 50lbs pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20lbs pounds of force as needed to move objects
Reports to: Both the School Director and the Owner
Working Environment:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 15% sitting, 25% walking, and 60% standing
