Head, Governance, Research & Advisory

To provide a corporate governance advisory, research and reporting service to Group Governance, as well as governance and committee secretarial services to an allocated portfolio of committees.  To liaise with the relevant chairmen of board and management committees, executive and senior management team members of business segments and corporate functions, as well as external service providers in fulfilling this role. To ensure compliance. with the applicable statutory, regulatory and corporate governance requirements for board and management committees. Key responsibilities include but not limited to GovernanceCommittee Secretarial Services, Reporting, Board Development, Ad-hoc governance related tasks and projects, People and Cost Management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Type of Qualification: Post Graduate Degree
  • Field of Study: Finance/Legal
  • Other Minimum Qualifications, Certifications or Professional Memberships: CA (SA), LLB/Admitted Attorney.

Minimum Experience Required

  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role, experience in a banking environment is preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of principles of corporate governance. 
  • A good understanding of the regulatory environment within the banking industry. 
  • A good understanding of business processes adopted in the bank. Computer literate in Microsoft suite of applications.
