We have a new opportunity within our newly formed Debenhams own label team, working for the Dorothy Perkins brand. We are seeking an inspiring and driven Head of Buying to lead a strong team of Buyers and their teams across all product categories, reporting to the Buying Director.

What you'll be doing
The Head of Buying:
- Is responsible and accountable for the planning, direction and buying for all Dorothy Perkins product areas in order to deliver company KPI’s, and in line with the buying strategy determined by the Buying Director.
- Drives team development across product area teams within multiple divisions (Clothing, Accessories and Home) and proactively seeks to continuously improve the buying processes and function
- Operates commercially and maintains an overview of the ‘bigger picture’ across all areas of the range by maintaining close and productive working relationships with other Head(s) of
- All tasks and activities to be undertaken within the framework of the overall department and business goals and strategy and in line with brand identity and strategy
- Uses the WSSI to make informed and strategic decisions within the defined parameters of the role
- Is responsible for setting and maintaining critical path to ensure attainment of KPI’s Is a first-class negotiator with a deep understanding of the cost structure of a garment in order to always pass on best value to the customer
- Consistently demonstrate the ability to respond and trade to sales and external trend to drive maximum profitability
- Is accountable for ensuring buying team relentlessly focus on emerging catwalk and street trend and interpret those relevant to the brand
- Is responsible and accountable for managing specific areas of the business and the team to ensure delivery of the KPI’s
- Presents in a clear, concise, and accurate manner, detailed information regarding the buying function
- Works with their subordinates and in conjunction with the Head of Merchandising and directors, to influence strategic plans and developments
- Completes project management tasks as requested by Directors. Uses leadership skills to drive the motivation and people management of the tea

More about you
- Experience within a previous womenswear buying role operating at experienced Senior Buyer, Buying Manager or Head of Buying level.
- Passionate about being an ambassador for the brand.
- A strategic thinker and strong leader.
