A bit about The Role
 
A Dublin based FinTech is looking for an experienced Head of Compliance/MLRO to join their leadership team.

 
Reporting to the Board of Directors you will conduct objective, independent risk assessments ensuring compliance with relevant AML and ATF requirements. You will hold Pre- Approved Controlled Functions (PCF-52) and (PCF-12) under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity standards.

What will you be doing in the role?

The MLRO/HOC has the following responsibilities vis-a-vis the compliance program:

  • Developing and maintaining the AML and CTF Compliance Program and Risk Assessments, which includes regularly reviewing and updating related documents and maintaining a record of all updates.
  • Perform compliance monitoring and oversight reviews (including AML and CTF requirements etc.), document results and propose enhancements where identified.
  • Ensuring that all employees, agents, and other relevant parties received appropriate AML and CTF training at least annually.
  • Reporting the Senior Management and the Board of Directors on the status of the AML
  • Program, including any AML Compliance Effectiveness Reviews and regulatory examinations.
  • Maintain a satisfactory relationship with relevant regulatory authorities including the Central Bank of Ireland.
  • Review and assess compliance breaches and work with the Company to remediate and resolve any identified issues.
  • Assist with the management of external relations e.g. Central Bank of Ireland, FSPO, External Auditors, etc.
  • Maintaining a sound knowledge of Irish/EU AML/CTF requirements and upstream regulation as they apply to our business model.
  • Obtaining appropriate training, including continuing education, to develop and maintain knowledge of AML and CTF compliance requirements and industry best practices.

What are we looking for?

  • 5+ years of experience in a same or similar position with an Irish financial institution, preferably FinTech or e-money or payment institution, covering a wide range of subjects across retail and business customer bases, such as KYC, CDD/EDD, Transaction Monitoring, Risk Assessments, and Reporting (SARs)
  • Knowledge of the Central Bank of Ireland’s regulatory requirements relating eMoney Institutions. Ideally you will have previously operated as in PCF-52/PCF-12
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in compliance management, reporting and oversight.
  • Knowledge of European Financial Services regulatory environment, and current competitive situation
  • Able to work under pressure and manage own workload.
  • Strong people skills and the ability to interface with all levels within the corporation and various business units.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
