Head of Developer Relations

Neon is an open-source company on a mission to create a cloud-native Postgres database as a service for every developer.

Developer adoption is crucial to the success of our mission. We’re looking for the Head of Developer Relations who will lead and grow our DevRel team. You will also take ownership of nurturing and amplifying the developer community at Neon.

You will

• Develop and execute the strategy to increase the number of engineers who regularly interact with and use Neon to build their products
• Be an inspirational leader for the DevRel team: you will support and help your team grow
• Set up metrics and goals for your team
• Build the thriving community strategy
• Collaborate with the Product Team (UX/UI Designer, Technical writer) to keep the Storefront up to date with user questions and needs
• Build demo apps with the DevRel and Engineering teams, and the community
• Promote new features, and get feedback from the audience
• Influence marketing and branding efforts in addition to developer relations
• Make sure the developer content is of high quality and hugely engaging
• Collect, analyze, and share developer insights with product and engineering teams
• Manage and enhance developer communications channels such as Discord, Discourse, etc.

We are looking for someone who is

• An experienced Developer Advocate with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• A strong communicator with a track record featuring engaging talks, popular articles, and technical publications
• A progressive leader, with an emphasis on leading people, building and scaling teams, and engaging global and local stakeholders
• Experienced with databases, data lakes, or data management platforms
• Confident and comfortable presenting to different types of audiences, large and small
• A hands-on developer who is versed in full-stack development
• Creative, empathetic, communicative, and clever
• Adept at communicating technically complicated topics simply and elegantly
• Intellectually curious, with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

About Neon

Neon is the first multi-cloud, open source, fully managed, and serverless Postgres. We aim to provide developers with the best Postgres experience in the cloud.

Neon was created by a team of Postgres hackers, and led by CEO Nikita Shamgunov (co-founder of SingleStore). Neon is built on open-source principles and is focused on giving back to the Postgres and developer communities.
