Job Summary
We are seeking an accomplished Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) Specialist with extensive experience in home infusion, specialty pharmacy, and nutrition support services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical and operational understanding of TPN therapy, payer requirements, referral management, and patient qualification criteria.
This individual must have an established network and active book of business, including strong professional relationships with hospitals, discharge planners, case managers, dietitians, physicians, gastroenterology practices, surgeons, and nutrition support teams.
Duties and Responsibilities

Demonstrated expertise in TPN therapy, enteral nutrition, and home infusion services.

Thorough understanding of clinical documentation requirements, payer guidelines, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance authorization processes.

Proven track record of generating referrals and growing TPN business through existing healthcare relationships.

Established contacts within hospitals, health systems, skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation centers, and physician practices.

Ability to educate referral sources on patient eligibility, coverage requirements, and transition-of-care processes.

Strong knowledge of reimbursement, intake, qualification, and compliance requirements related to TPN services.

Experience collaborating with case managers, discharge planners, clinical nutrition teams, and healthcare providers to ensure timely patient placement and continuity of care.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and business development skills.
Primary Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain referral relationships to drive growth in TPN and nutrition support services.

Serve as a subject matter expert for TPN therapy and associated clinical requirements.

Identify qualified patients and facilitate efficient transitions from acute care settings to home infusion services.

Partner with intake, pharmacy, nursing, and reimbursement teams to ensure seamless patient onboarding.
- Act as a trusted resource to hospitals, case managers, physicians, and healthcare professionals regarding nutrition support solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of proven sales experience in hospital with existing professional relationship and connections, infusion, specialty pharmacy, or biotech/biologics sales.
- Prior experience with TPN, IVIG, or specialty biologics is a must.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, Pharmacy, or related field; experience may substitute for educational requirements. (Advanced degree is a plus.)
- Demonstrated ability to open hospital accounts, navigate formulary inclusion, and influence P&T committee decisions.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
- High level of energy, professionalism, and resilience in a fast-paced, competitive market.
- Willingness to travel 50–70% of the time within assigned territory.
- Strong customer-first mindset with the ability to deliver solutions that improve patient outcomes.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce or similar) and Microsoft Google Suite.
