HR Operations & Payroll Asia – Support Lead

TLDR

Coordinate end-to-end HR operations and payroll, administer Workday HCM, and drive regional HR/payroll transformation initiatives.

The Role

The Operations Support Lead will assist with the day-to-day operational support across HR Operations, Workday Administration, Asia Payroll Management and regional operational initiatives, ensuring the efficient delivery of HR and payroll services across the Asia region.

The role partners closely with HR Operations, Payroll, HRIS, Finance, Technology, People Partners and external vendors to ensure operational excellence, system integrity, payroll governance and continuous improvement across multiple countries.

The role is responsible for coordinating HR operational activities, supporting Workday administration, overseeing payroll operations, managing operational reporting, and providing project support for regional HR and Payroll transformation initiatives.

This is a hands-on role suited to a seasoned HR Operations or Payroll professional who can hit the ground running, navigate complexity across multiple markets, and act as a stabilising operational force for the Asia team from day one

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end HR Operations services across the Asia region, managing employee lifecycle transactions — from onboarding and contract changes to offboarding — with accuracy and within agreed SLAs
  • Administer and maintain Workday HCM, including employee data integrity, organisational structures, security role assignments, and processing system configuration requests in line with governance protocols
  • Coordinate multi-country payroll operations across Asia, including payroll preparation, data validation, variance analysis, reconciliations, and final sign-off prior to vendor submission
  • Partner closely with payroll vendors, Finance, and in-country HR stakeholders to resolve payroll discrepancies, manage escalations, and ensure ongoing statutory and regulatory compliance
  • Support regional HR and Payroll transformation projects by contributing to UAT, documenting business requirements, driving business readiness activities, and providing post-go-live stabilisation support
  • Develop and maintain operational dashboards, KPI reporting, SOPs, and governance documentation to provide regional leadership with clear visibility of service performance and compliance health
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex or sensitive HR and Payroll queries, applying sound judgement to resolve issues and knowing when to escalate further
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with cross-functional teams — including Technology, Finance, and Legal — and external vendors to ensure cohesive, well-coordinated service delivery across Asia
  • Demonstrated experience in HR Operations, Payroll Operations, or Shared Services within a regional or multinational environment
  • Strong Workday HCM administration knowledge and hands-on HR operational experience
  • Experience managing multi-country payroll across Asia, with solid understanding of local statutory requirements
  • Proven project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across diverse markets and cultures
  • Experience working with HRIS systems, payroll vendors, and cross-functional teams
