Job Title: Human Resources Director

Location: Omaha

Reporting to: Regional Human Resources Director

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead the HR team’s activities and duties.
  • Advise and assist the General Manager, HR Manager, Superintendents, Plant Controller and Plant Engineer on plant operations projects and initiatives and investigate process improvements.
  • Be a leader and a driver of JBS culture within the facility.
  • Ensure that processes exist to identify, recruit, recognize and develop talent within the facility.
  • Establish policies and practices to maintain a positive work environment that is conducive to employee engagement and retention.
  • Ensure that the facility is properly staffed at all times to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Maintain all policies and processes necessary to bring the plant into compliance with all local, state and federal laws concerning employment and labor law.
  • Represents plant management in all matters related to labor relations, compliance, and other Human Resources administrative actions.
  • Acts as the resident expert on all corporate human resources activities such as compensation, benefits, training, and performance management programs. Works closely with JBS Corporate contacts in each of these areas.
  • Ensure safety and sanitation regulations are being practiced and adhered to.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments.
  • Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.

Required Experience:

  • 3-5 years in positions of increasing responsibility within Human Resources in a Generalist Role, preferred but not required
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in related field preferred but not required
  • Previous experience in a food production facility is preferred

Skills Required:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP and Kronos systems.
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills.
  • Good organization skills.
  • Ability to work across functions and strong working relationships within the company.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and Saturdays as needed.
  • Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
