Internship Simulation Scenario Designer
TLDR
Design engaging maritime scenarios for NAUTIS Home using built-in editors, collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate user needs into playable simulations.
This is what you like to do
VSTEP builds professional simulators used to train ship crews and other maritime professionals around the world. One of our products, NAUTIS Home, is a simulator that users install and run on their own PC at home. It comes with a set of ships, environments, and courses with scenarios..
To keep our users engaged we want to expand the number of scenarios so they can enjoy the software longer.
If you have a creative mind and a feel for the water, this is your chance to design new maritime scenarios for NAUTIS Home. These can be new situations or variations of existing maritime scenarios. Some of the scenarios might focus more on entertainment, while others are aimed at learning new maritime skills. You will have plenty of room to let your creativity run wild.
You will be part of our Product Team, and will be working closely with colleagues from the product team, Software Engineering and our 3D artists to bring NAUTIS Home to the next level.
Your daily activities will include:
Analyse existing vessels, environments and scenarios
Read the user forum or talk to clients to learn what the users want and need
Design scenario concepts and turn them into challenging, entertaining scenarios
Build your scenarios using our NAUTIS tools (scenario editor and logic editor)
Make scenarios ready for release (add metadata, briefing, images, and so on)
- Use our version control system (GIT)
- Edit XML files
Share feedback with developers about the software and bugs
