Inventory Coordinator

$22 – $36 per hour

TLDR

Support inventory operations for aerospace manufacturing of space station hardware, maintaining ERP/MES accuracy, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring quality-compliant material handling.

Vast is looking for an Inventory Coordinator, reporting to the to Manager, Inventory Control to support the development and operation of inventory systems required for the design and build of the world’s first commercial human-rated space stations.

This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location.

Shift:

  • First Shift: 6am - 2:30pm PST
  • Second Shift: 2pm - 10:30pm PST 

Responsibilities: 

  • Execute daily inventory operations including receiving, stocking, picking, kitting, and issuing material to support production and development
  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions within ERP/MES systems (e.g., Manufacturo), ensuring full traceability and data integrity
  • Support move orders and material requests with a focus on speed, accuracy, and clear communication to stakeholders
  • Perform cycle counts and inventory audits; investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Ensure proper identification, labeling, and storage of inventory, including serialized and lot-controlled material
  • Maintain compliance with quality standards (e.g., AS9100), including proper segregation of nonconforming (MRB) material
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Receiving, Inspection, and Engineering to support operational needs
  • Assist with organization and optimization of inventory storage locations, including racks, cages, and line-side inventory
  • Support implementation of process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce handling, and improve accuracy
  • Operate material handling equipment as needed (pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.) in a safe and compliant manner

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate. 
  • 1–5+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or a related field (level will be based on experience)

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment (aerospace or regulated industry preferred)
  • Familiarity with ERP/MES systems (experience with Manufacturo or similar systems is a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy and accountability
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to changing production needs
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, including rotating between locations as needed
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
  • Experience with inventory best practices such as FIFO, lot/serial tracking, and cycle counting preferred
  • Forklift certification or willingness to become certified preferred

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience supporting inventory operations in an aerospace or AS9100-certified environment
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements
  • Experience training or mentoring team members
  • Familiarity with kitting strategies and line-side inventory support
  • Experience working across multiple facilities or supporting scaling operations
  • Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestones
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted

Pay Range: 

  • Inventory Coordinator I: $22.00 - $31.00
  • Inventory Coordinator II: $26.00 - $36.00

Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand. Salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package.
