Junior Technical Writer

TLDR

Develop, edit, and manage XML-based technical documentation for the Army Logistics Research and Engineering Directorate, ensuring accuracy through collaboration with subject matter experts.

We are looking for an experienced Technical Writer to support the Army Logistics Research and Engineering Directorate. This individual will be responsible for creating, editing, and managing a variety of technical documents and publications. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical writing skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with subject matter experts to ensure clarity and accuracy in all materials.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation in XML.
  • Collaborate with technical subject matter experts to gather information and ensure content accuracy.
  • Edit and proofread documents for clarity, consistency, and adherence to publication standards.
  • Ensure all documentation meets company and industry standards.


Job Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in Technical Writing, English, Communication, or a related field with three (3) years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent with five (5) years of highly relevant specialized experience, including prolonged military instruction.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical writing functions, publication standards, and processes.
  • Preferred experience with XMetaL, Arbortext, FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, or equivalent software tool.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
