Position Description:
KKR Capstone provides a unique opportunity for high-performing candidates to drive real operating change and generate value in a private equity environment, with an “owner’s mindset”. KKR Capstone Associates are expected to take ownership of key priorities & initiatives at the portfolio company, from start to finish. Our Associates are held accountable for individual results and are typically the primary change agents within the organization. As such, Associates play a key role in helping portfolio companies achieve their objectives and realize KKR’s investment thesis.
The KKR Capstone model is deeply collaborative, within KKR Capstone as well as with other teams at KKR and portfolio companies. Associates work closely with Directors with significant operating and investing experience via an apprenticeship model. This team oriented approach includes working closely with deal team members and portfolio company executives to set priorities and drive operating results.
Ultimately, Associates will gain invaluable skills in managerial decision-making, leadership, P&L management, people management, prioritization, implementation feasibility, hands-on operational execution, and assessment of investment opportunities.

The KKR Capstone experience creates unparalleled career optionality and helps propel team members towards senior positions within KKR or outside the firm. Typically, KKR executives follow one of three paths: rise within KKR Capstone, transition into roles within the broader KKR firm (e.g. investing), or take senior operating roles at companies inside or outside the KKR portfolio, where the brand and experience carry tremendous weight. There is an established track record of Capstone executives landing in important leadership roles upon deciding to leave the firm (including at large companies as well as more entrepreneurial ventures). Some examples from the last few years include Michael Linford, CFO of Affirm; Derick Prelle, CEO of Mills Fleet Farm; Ravi Gupta, COO/CFO of Instacart; Chris Hsu, CEO of Zibo (ex-COO of HP); Scott Wagner, CEO of GoDaddy; and Matt King, CEO of FanDuel.
Candidate Qualification:
- Experience at a top-tier consulting firm with a demonstrated distinctive track record peer group.
- Standalone, mature individual with strong presence and bias to action.
- Available to start in the Summer/Fall of 2022 in New York, NY or Menlo Park, CA
- Candidates should have completed 2-4 years at their respective consulting firm before starting at KKR
