Lead Network Specialist (Contract)

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Network Specialist to join our growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) team. In this leadership role, you will oversee the design, implementation, and support of network infrastructures for a diverse client base. You will serve as a technical expert, mentor junior staff, and ensure high-quality service delivery while maintaining strong client relationships. This is a contract until the beginning of March. Hours: Monday-Friday 2pm-10pm Responsibilities:

Lead the planning, deployment, and optimization of client network infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, VPNs, firewalls, and wireless systems.

Serve as the primary escalation point for complex networking issues and ensure timely resolution.

Collaborate with clients to assess business needs, recommend solutions, and implement secure, scalable network designs.

Manage and monitor network performance, proactively identifying risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.

Oversee configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of switches, routers, firewalls, and other networking equipment.

Ensure compliance with client security requirements, industry standards, and MSP best practices.

Document network diagrams, configurations, and processes for internal knowledge base and client records.

Mentor and support junior network engineers and technicians, fostering technical growth and professional development.

Assist leadership with strategic planning, technology evaluations, and service delivery improvements.

Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours client support as needed.
