Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Lead design and implementation of web-based back-end components that are high-performing and scalable
• Participate and improve development processes such as Agile, Scrum, XP, Kanban along with strong robust coordination processes related to software deployments and testing
• Help hire developers, testers and system administration experts
• Mentor younger software enginers into rock star software development experts
• Maintain high code quality and component architecture
• You will manage against timelines and releases and push the envelop in talent productivity and software effectiveness
• This is initially an individual contributor role (within a team) as the DNA team. You will be expected to become a significant team leader as the team grows

Job Requirements

Your skills:

• You know PHP very well, minimum 4 years experience doing solid PHP code
• You love good software development – simplicity, common sense, elegant code
• You have architected large software components – you have worked on two or more areas around scalability, security, data access, parallel processing, performance profiling, and multiple system communications
• You have used modern web frameworks
• You are a fast thinker, hands on manager and strong communicator
• You speak English fluently
• You have an outstanding university degree in a technical subject and several years’ experience in a lead architect, lead software developer, or software manager position

Bonus

• You can have experience with large scale operational eCommerce websites
• You know agile development, quality assurance, and software release processes and tools. Not just from books. You know how to do fast release cycles without compromising on quality
