Learning and Development Specialist

Angkas’ mission is to eradicate poverty in the Philippines by providing opportunities for its bikers to create a source of livelihood that impacts their family and their communities.

The Learning and Development Specialist, will play a crucial role in setting up the foundations in making this happen - from facilitating engaging training sessions for rank-and-file employees, ensuring alignment with Angkas’ competency frameworks and business goals. They will work closely with the Organizational Development team, Talent Management Officer, and Employee Engagement to implement training programs, organize learning events, and support culture-building initiatives. Additionally, they will help coordinate company-wide activities, track training effectiveness, and enhance the overall employee learning experience.

What you’ll be doing:

● Facilitates engaging and effective training sessions forAngkas employees, ensuring alignment with Angkas’ competency frameworks and business goals.

● Works closely with the Talent Management Officer and the Organizational Development (OD) team to ensure training initiatives align with overall talent strategies.

● Builds collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to gather feedback and continuously improve training content and delivery.

● Assists in planning and coordinating monthly, quarterly, and annual training sessions.

● Ensures training programs are cost-effective, utilizing creative methods to optimize resources within budget constraints.

● Conducts new hire induction programs to ensure seamless onboarding and alignment with Angkas core values.

● Collaborates with Employee Engagement to help plan and execute company-wide events, team-building activities, and other engagement initiatives.

● Assists in organizing learning events, recognition programs, and other culture-building initiatives to enhance the employee experience.

● Delivers training modules using interactive and practical approaches to enhance employee learning and engagement.

● Maintains training records, tracks attendance, and compiles post-training feedback for continuous improvement.

● Provides employees with information on available training opportunities and learning resources.

● Conducts basic training needs assessments to identify knowledge and skill gaps among rank-and-file employees.

● Stays updated on new training techniques, tools, and industry best practices to enhance program effectiveness.

● Assists in sourcing external training programs or subject matter experts when needed.

● Supports the Organizational Development (OD) team in other related initiatives and projects.

● Adheres to company policies and training standards.

● Participates in ongoing professional development and training programs.

Requirements

● Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or any related field.

● At least 2-3 years of experience in training facilitation, learning and development, or a similar role.

● Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.

● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and basic Learning Management Systems (LMS).

● Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

● Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

● Ability to adapt training techniques to different learning styles and employee needs.

● Experience in event coordination or employee engagement initiatives is a plus.
