Management Accountant

This role is eligible for hybrid working

As a key member of the finance team you will be working closely with the Financial Controller and Production Accountant, ensuring all aspects of financial tasks are completed on time, in line with Jellyfish processes and procedures and to a high level of accuracy.

As the Management Accountant you will be responsible for supporting the Finance Controller in providing robust, accurate financial reporting whilst ensuring the smooth operating of the Finance function.

You will have a positive, can-do attitude and represent the Finance Department with professionalism and enthusiasm.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and assisting with Sales and Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Overseeing and assisting with the processing of invoices and follow up with clients and suppliers where required
  • Overseeing and assisting with inputting accurate financial data into Sage
  • Preparation of month-end Management Accounts incl. Accruals, Prepayments, deferred & Accrued income, bad debt provision etc
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Register with relevant month end postings
  • Completion of company quarterly VAT Returns
  • Regular Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Year-End Audit Preparation
  • Assist with forecasting and budgeting
  • Assist with cashflow forecasting
  • Run monthly cost centre reports and work closely with heads of department
  • Ad hoc Finance administration and analysis
  • Providing various reports as and when required by the Finance Controller/Director
  • Cover for the Finance Assistant where necessary

Requirements

  • Part-Qualified or equivalent QBE
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel
  • Experience of accounting software, ideally SAGE
  • Good reporting knowledge
  • Proven track record of progression through a Finance Department
  • The ability to multi-task and respond to team demands reflecting peaks and troughs in work-flow
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail / data accuracy
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written skills)
  • A proactive approach – continuously finding ways to improve processes for ease and efficiency and taking the initiative
  • Previous experience in media/creative industry is desirable but not essential
  • Some experience of managing others is a bonus although not essential
