Manager of Procurement
Position Summary
We are looking for an innovative procurement manager to be the first member of our procurement team. You will spearhead the purchasing process for selecting suppliers as well as providing guidance on sourcing and procurement processes.
Mission of the Finance Team at HackerOne
Deliver operationally excellent systems and results for critical HackerOne processes including Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Financial Reporting, Analytics and Business Intelligence, Financial Planning/Forecasting/Budgeting, Cash Management/Treasury, Tax filings and compliance, Risk Mitigation (coordinated with Security, Compliance and Legal teams) and Information Technology provisioning and support.
This role reports into the Chief Financial Officer and can be performed on-site from our headquarters in San Francisco, or remotely from anywhere within the United States.
Your Journey at HackerOne
- Dive in immediately to build, and then operate, a professional Procurement function for indirect spend categories across the company
- Utilize existing systems as a platform to operate an effective procurement process, including documenting approvals, tracking and reporting status, and leading efforts to ensure that all indirect spend flows through this process
- Partner across the company to streamline procurement and sourcing processes and procedures - driving controls, visibility, and efficiency
- Bring best practices and lead the development of, or revisions to, HackerOne policies, procedures, and processes related to Procurement activities
- Ensure that benefits from the strategic sourcing process are sustained and extended during the period of the contracts through ongoing improvement strategies and initiatives including post sourcing
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and approvers, especially legal, security/compliance, and finance (including specifically Accounts Payable and Financial Planning & Analysis) to develop and execute efficient and safe sourcing strategies for supplier contract negotiations
- Define and report on key metrics that measure the effectiveness of supply and cost savings
- Communicate with and educate others in the organization regarding effective and compliant purchasing strategies and practices, and audit current state for compliance and continuous improvement
Who You Are
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years proven track record in Procurement Operations and Strategic Sourcing/Negotiations including Supplier Risk and Relationship Management
- 5+ years of experience in high-tech company or similar industry
- Significant experience working with a variety of contract types (i.e. preparing, reviewing and negotiating) and contract processes (i.e. implementation, etc.)
- Past experience with drafting agreements in following areas: IT, Marketing, Professional Services, and Facilities along with a demonstrated record of achieving cost savings and delivering other value-add to the business
- Experience working closely with security and compliance teams, legal, accounting/finance and other key stakeholders, to build requirements and reviews into a streamlined process
- Proven ability to work with legal terms and conditions and demonstrated success in clearly stating and conveying legal positions (fully supported by HackerOne’s legal team)
- Experience with contract reporting and tools necessary (i.e. total number of contracts, number of suppliers under contract, and other indicators) to assess progress and effectiveness of the contract function
- Experience responding to complex inquiries regarding contract obligations and redlines/revisions
- Demonstrated leadership skills in a team setting where team members are not direct reports and a demonstrated ability to deliver results with cross-functional teams
- Strong attention to detail; excellent organizational and communication skills
- Effective analytical, problem solving, planning, and project management skills
- Prior experience working in Cyber security industry is an advantage
- Workday, IronClad, Whistic, OneTrust experience is an advantage
