Marketing Data Analyst

As a Marketing Data Analyst at Big Sea, you will play a pivotal role in identifying our clients' reporting needs and aligning them to their business objectives. You will analyze and visualize omnichannel marketing data—including SEO, paid media, social media, email, and more—to create actionable insights and tie marketing metrics directly to business goals. 

Working closely with strategists and account leads, you’ll help our clients understand the impact of their marketing efforts and guide strategic decisions to achieve their objectives. Your familiarity with tools like HubSpot and advanced reporting techniques will be instrumental in creating value for our clients.

This is a part-time contract role, with potential of full time employment in the first half of 2025. We expect to need 7-10 hours each week.

Responsibilities and Duties

Data-Driven Strategy

  • Provide recommendations on best practices for capturing, structuring, and leveraging data to support comprehensive reporting.
  • Tie marketing metrics to broader business goals, ensuring clients understand the ROI of their marketing investments.
  • Perform systematic analysis of marketing engagement and campaign initiatives to inform client strategy.
  • Collaborate with clients to enhance their use of strategic analysis, offering insights that optimize marketing results.

Data Mastery

  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and new data analysis tools to continuously improve reporting capabilities.
  • Ensure tracking pixels and site integrations are set up and tracking properly across client properties at start and throughout client engagements
  • Access and compile marketing data across disparate sources into concise and precise information
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of data sources, evaluating their credibility and utility for client-specific needs.
  • Work with clients and internal teams to address emerging business challenges and identify opportunities for expanded support.
  • Solve problems with clients on data & reporting issues

Reporting and Insights Creation

  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive weekly and monthly performance reports for clients, detailing key marketing metrics and campaign performance across various channels.
  • Ensure reports provide actionable insights, tying data back to clients' business goals and marketing KPIs.
  • Customize reports to suit each client’s unique objectives and priorities, focusing on what matters most to their business.
  • Identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement based on report analysis, providing strategic recommendations to internal teams and clients.
  • Present performance reports in client meetings, translating complex data into clear, understandable insights.
  • Develop automated reporting processes where possible, leveraging tools such as Google Looker Studio, HubSpot, and other analytics platforms to streamline report visualization and delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing data analysis, preferably within an agency setting.
  • Strong proficiency with analytics tools such as GA4, Google Looker Studio, and HubSpot.
  • Hands-on experience with SEO, paid media, and social media reporting and analysis.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a passion for optimizing marketing performance.
