Mid Software Systems Engineer with Java - Customer Identity and Access Solutions

Who are we?

The Customer Identity and Access Solutions (CIAS) engineering team is looking for a Mid Engineer.

Our scrum teams in Kraków are responsible for developing and maintaining applications that handle Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) for Sabre’s customers across all Business Units. We deliver services and third-party products focused on user authentication, authorization, and customer identity management. Our applications are critical to the company, so stability, security, and scalability are particularly important to us.

What will you do?

When you join our team, you will have the opportunity to participate in every phase of the software development lifecycle: feature design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.

You will:

• Build and maintain backend services supporting authentication, authorization, and identity management

• Work with a broad suite of automated tests (functional, integration, performance)

• Deploy and operate services in production environments, gaining full ownership of your code

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to ensure system reliability and availability

• Collaborate with product, architecture, and SRE teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions

In our day-to-day work, we leverage modern technologies including Java 21, Spring Boot, cloud-native architectures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Docker, Kubernetes (GKE), and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).

We are continuously evolving our identity platform and authentication solutions, and you will have the opportunity to influence how we manage identity and access at scale.

We also actively adopt AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Gemini) to improve engineering productivity, code quality, and developer experience.

Job requirements

Must have:

• Strong experience with Java (Java 17/21 preferred)

• Experience with Spring / Spring Boot

• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud-native development (or similar Cloud Solutions)

• Experience with microservices architecture and REST APIs

• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Maven, Git)

• Experience with Linux/Unix environments

• Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito, Spock)

• Good self-organization skills and ownership mindset

• Excellent communication skills in English, written and verbal

Nice to have:

• Experience with identity and access management, including SSO, SAML, OAuth

• Familiarity with OKTA or similar identity providers

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes (GKE)

• Basic scripting skills

• Experience using AI tools in the Software Development Lifecycle, including:

  • AI-assisted coding (e.g., GitHub Copilot)

  • AI assistants (e.g., Claude, Gemini)

  • Agent-based workflows, prompt engineering, or developer productivity tooling
